When it comes to bar food, the Tap Room Annex is the place to go downtown. The Ypsilantian staff generally gives the Annex burgers 2nd only to The Full House, so if you don't have a car, hit up the Tap Room Annex. Also of note are the mexican potato skins, and for vegetarian fare please try the Cajun burger done Cajun style.
The beer selection is good, but limited on draft choices, though any number of Michigan brews are available bottled. The top shelf choices at the bar rival anyplace in town, and The Annex is the only place we know of to get a glass of Laphroaig.
By far the best reason to wander into the Tap Room Annex however, is the music. It is currently the only place in Ypsilanti featuring live music every night they're open. On Thursdays, The Martindales entertain with 21st Century blues and rock, as they host Open Mic with some of the areas best musicians making surprise appearances. Fridays feature John Latini and Friends, which is simulcast on AnnArborAlive.com
The Tap Room Annex will close on December 1st for remodeling, as the restaurant is expanded and connected to the Tap Room.
